"Indeed, it is We who sent down the message [Dhikr]," meaning: the Qur'an, "and indeed, We will be its guardian," meaning Allah guarded it against Iblis so that he might add anything to it or subtract anything from it.
﴿إِنَّا نَحن نزلنَا الذّكر﴾ يَعْنِي: الْقُرْآنَ ﴿وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ﴾ حَفِظَهُ اللَّهُ مِنْ إِبْلِيسَ أَنْ يَزِيدَ فِيهِ شَيْئًا، أَوْ يَنْقُصَ مِنْهُ.
