تفسير القرآن العزيز لابن أبي زمنين

"They would surely say: 'Our vision has been covered,'" meaning: blocked, "'rather, we are a people bewitched,'" as in His saying: "'And if they see a sign, they turn away and say, "A continuous magic."'

Muhammad said: Whoever recites 'sukkirat' with the intensive (shaddah) form, it is from 'sakkartu al-basar' (I covered the vision) when I block it; the blockage is called 'as-sikr.' And whoever recites 'sukirat' in the light (takhfif) form, the meaning is: our vision was bewildered and became still, unable to see. The Arabs say: 'sukirat ar-rih taskuru' (the wind became still) when it ceases to blow.

Surah Al-Hijr from verse (16) to verse (25).
