(Wa 'alamat) - He placed them on the paths so that you may recognize them by them. (Wa bi-al-najmi hum yahtadun) - meaning: the group of stars by which one is guided.
﴿وعلامات﴾ جَعَلَهَا فِي الطُّرُقِ تَعْرِفُونَهَا بِهَا ﴿وبالنجم هم يَهْتَدُونَ﴾ يَعْنِي: جَمَاعَةَ النُّجُومِ الَّتِي يَهْتَدَى بهَا.
