"And indeed, for you in the grazing livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from what is in their bellies—from between excretion and blood—pure milk, palatable to drinkers." He says: In this milk which Allah brought out from between excretion and blood is a sign for a people who reason; so they know that He who brought it forth is capable of giving life to the dead.
Muhammad says: It is said: 'Saqaytuhu' (I gave him to drink) and 'Asqaytuhu' (I gave him to drink) have the same meaning. 'Al-An'am' (grazing livestock) is phrased in the form of a plural, and it is a collective noun that can be used as masculine or feminine. 'Al-Farth' is what is in the rumen, and 'As-Sa'igh' is that which is easy to swallow.
﴿وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِي الأَنْعَامِ لَعِبْرَةً نُسْقِيكُمْ مِمَّا فِي بُطُونِهِ مِنْ بَيْنِ فَرْثٍ وَدَمٍ لَبَنًا خَالِصًا سائغا للشاربين﴾ يَقُولُ: فِي هَذَا اللَّبَنِ الَّذِي أَخْرَجَهُ اللَّهُ مِنْ بَيْنَ فَرْثٍ وَدَمٍ آيَةٌ لقومٍ يَعْقِلُونَ؛ فَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ الَّذِي أَخْرَجَهُ قادرٌ عَلَى أَنْ يُحْيِيَ الْمَوْتَى.
قَالَ محمدٌ: يُقَالُ: سَقَيْتُهُ وَأَسْقَيْتُهُ بِمَعْنَى واحدٍ. (وَالأَنْعَامُ) لَفْظُهُ لَفْظُ جَمِيعٍ، وَهُوَ اسْمُ الْجِنْسِ يُذَكَّرُ وَيُؤَنَّثُ، وَالْفَرْثُ: مَا فِي الْكِرْشِ، وَالسَّائِغُ: السَّهْلُ فِي الشّرْب.
