تفسير القرآن العزيز لابن أبي زمنين
مجلد 2 · صفحة 1351٧٧

الترجمة · EN

"And to Allah belongs the unseen of the heavens and the earth," meaning: He knows the unseen of the heavens and the unseen of the earth. "And the command of the Hour is not but as a glance of the eye or even nearer;" rather, it is nearer than the glance of the eye. A glance of the eye is that one looks toward the sky, which is at a distance of five hundred years of travel.

Muhammad said: It is said that 'the Hour' is a name for the death of the creation and their resurrection; so the Exalted and Majestic informed that the resurrection and the bringing to life—in the speed of the Power to bring them about—is like the glance of the eye or even nearer. He does not mean that the Hour itself arrives in less than the glance of the eye; and Allah knows best.
