"And do not make your oaths a means of deceit among you," the interpretation of al-Hasan: He says: Do not act as the hypocrites acted, by manifesting faith while concealing polytheism, "and a foot may slip after it was firmly planted," meaning: it slips into disbelief after it had been upon faith.
﴿وَلا تَتَّخِذُوا أَيْمَانَكُمْ دَخَلا بَيْنَكُمْ﴾ تَفْسِيرُ الْحَسَنِ: يَقُولُ: لَا تَصْنَعُوا كَمَا صَنَعَ الْمُنَافِقُونَ، فَتُظْهِرُوا الإِيمَانَ وَتُسِرُّوا الشِّرْكَ ﴿فَتَزِلَّ قَدَمٌ بَعْدَ ثُبُوتهَا﴾ تَزِلَّ إِلَى الْكُفْرِ بَعْدَ مَا كَانَت على الْإِيمَان
