"Invite to the way of your Lord"—meaning the religion of your Lord—"with wisdom and fair preaching," meaning the Quran, "and argue with them in a way that is better." He commands them with what Allah has commanded them, and forbids them from what Allah has forbidden them.
﴿ادْع إِلَى سَبِيل رَبك﴾ دِينِ رَبِّكَ ﴿بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ﴾ يَعْنِي: الْقُرْآنَ ﴿وَجَادِلْهُمْ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أحسن﴾ يَأْمُرُهُمْ بِمَا أَمَرَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِهِ، وَيَنْهَاهُمْ عَمَّا نَهَاهُمُ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ.
