Mujahid said: It means whoever embraces Islam, from the non-Arabs and others.
"Do you truly testify that there are other gods with Allah?" This is in the form of an interrogative; meaning: have you indeed testified that there are other gods with Allah?
قَالَ مُجَاهِدٌ: يَعْنِي: مَنْ أَسْلَمَ مِنَ الْعَجَمِ وَغَيْرِهِمْ.
﴿أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَشْهَدُونَ أَنَّ مَعَ اللَّهِ آلِهَةً أُخْرَى﴾ وَهَذَا عَلَى الِاسْتِفْهَامِ؛ أَيْ: قَدْ شَهِدْتُمْ أَنَّ مَعَ اللَّهِ آلِهَةً أُخْرَى؟
