"Indeed, those who denied the meeting with Allah have lost, until when the Hour comes upon them suddenly, they will say: 'O our regret.'" And the term 'at-tahassur' (regret) means remorse. "'Over what we neglected in it'" — in the Hour, since they did not believe in it — "'while they bear their burdens on their backs. Unquestionably, evil is'" — meaning: 'how wretched is' — "'that which they bear,'" meaning: they carry their sins.
Yahya [narrated] from a companion of his, from Isma'il ibn Abi Rafi', from Sa'id al-Maqburi, from Abu Hurayrah, who said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Indeed, when the disbeliever emerges from his grave, his deed is personified for him in the ugliest form he has ever seen: with the ugliest face, the foulest odor, and the worst speech. He will say: 'Who are you? I seek refuge in Allah from you! For I have never seen anyone uglier in face than you.'"
