His saying: "And thus do We explain the verses" means: We make them clear, "that the way of the criminals might become manifest," O Muhammad, meaning: the polytheists, through the verses in which Allah has clarified the path of guidance from the path of misguidance.
Surah Al-An'am from verse (56) to verse (58).
قَوْله: ﴿وَكَذَلِكَ نفصل الْآيَات﴾ أَي: نبينها ﴿ولتستبين﴾ يَا مُحَمَّد ﴿سَبِيل الْمُجْرمين﴾ يَعْنِي: الْمُشْرِكِينَ بِالْآيَاتِ الَّتِي بَيَّنَ اللَّهُ فِيهَا سَبِيلَ الْهُدَى مِنْ سَبِيل الضَّلَالَة.
