"And when he saw the moon rising"—meaning ascending—"he said, 'This is my Lord.'" He said: So he observed it until it set. "But when it set"—it vanished—"he said, 'Unless my Lord guides me, I will surely be among the people who have gone astray.'" He said: And thus he increased in his proximity to the knowledge of Allah.
