"And this is a Book We have revealed, blessed," meaning: the Qur'an, "confirming that which was before it" of the Torah and the Gospel.
"And that you may warn the Mother of Cities [Makkah]," meaning: that you may warn the people of Makkah, "and those around it," meaning: the rest of the earth.
"And they are those who maintain their prayers." Qatadah said: They maintain their ablution, their appointed times, their bowing, and their prostrating.
Surat al-An'am from verse (93) to verse (94).
﴿وَهَذَا كتاب أَنزَلْنَاهُ مبارك﴾ يَعْنِي: الْقُرْآنَ ﴿مُصَدِّقُ الَّذِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ﴾ مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَالْإِنْجِيلَ.
﴿وَلِتُنْذِرَ أُمَّ الْقرى﴾ يَعْنِي: وَلِتُنْذِرَ أَهْلَ مَكَّةَ ﴿وَمَنْ حولهَا﴾ يَعْنِي: سَائِرَ الْأَرْضِ.
﴿وَهُمْ عَلَى صلَاتهم يُحَافِظُونَ﴾ قَالَ قَتَادَةُ:
يُحَافِظُونَ عَلَى وُضُوئِهَا ومواقيتها، وركوعها وسجودها.
سُورَة الْأَنْعَام من الْآيَة (٩٣) إِلَى الْآيَة (٩٤).
