{And likewise, their partners have beautified for many of the polytheists the killing of their children}—meaning: the devils commanded them to kill their children for fear of poverty—{in order to ruin them}—meaning: to destroy them—{and to confuse for them}—meaning: to muddle for them—{their religion}—which is that which Allah commanded them to follow; namely, Islam.
Surat al-An'am from verse (138) to verse (140).
﴿وَكَذَلِكَ زَيَّنَ لِكَثِيرٍ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ قتل أَوْلَادهم شركاؤهم﴾ يَعْنِي: الشَّيَاطِينَ أَمَرُوهُمْ بِقَتْلِ أَوْلَادِهِمْ خيفة الْعيلَة ﴿ليردوهم﴾ ليهلكوهم ﴿وليلبسوا عَلَيْهِم﴾ وليخلطوا عَلَيْهِم ﴿دينهم﴾ الَّذِي أَمَرَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِهِ؛ وَهُوَ الْإِسْلَام.
