"And when Moses said to his people, 'O my people, remember the favor of Allah upon you when He appointed among you prophets and made you kings'"—Mujahid's interpretation: He provided you with spouses, servants, and homes. Al-Kalbi said: There were seventy-two prophets among them during the lifetime of Moses, peace be upon him.
His saying: "'And gave you that which He had not given anyone among the worlds'"—meaning: the shade of the clouds provided to them, and the manna and quails He sent down upon them, and similar things to that which they were granted.
﴿وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَى لِقَوْمِهِ يَا قَوْمِ اذْكُرُوا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ جَعَلَ فِيكُمْ أَنْبِيَاءَ وَجَعَلَكُمْ ملوكا﴾ تَفْسِيرُ مُجَاهِدٍ: جَعَلَ لَكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا وَخَدَمًا [وَبُيُوتًا]. قَالَ الْكَلْبِيُّ: وَكَانَ مِنْهُمْ فِي حَيَاةِ مُوسَى عليه السلام اثْنَانِ وَسَبْعُونَ نَبِيًّا.
قَوْلُهُ: ﴿وَآتَاكُمْ مَا لَمْ يُؤْتِ أَحَدًا من الْعَالمين﴾ يَعْنِي: مَا ظَلَّلَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنَ الْغَمَامِ، وَأَنْزَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنَ الْمَنِّ وَالسَّلْوَى (وَأَشْبَاهِ ذَلِكَ) مِمَّا أُوتُوا.
