He said: {And of the camels, two, and of the oxen, two. Say, 'Has He forbidden the two males or the two females, or that which the wombs of the two females contain?'} of male or female; meaning, or has He forbidden all of that? For He has not forbidden anything of it.
{Or were you witnesses when Allah enjoined this upon you?} meaning: that you were not witnesses to this.
قَالَ: ﴿وَمِنَ الإِبِلِ اثْنَيْنِ وَمِنَ الْبَقر اثْنَيْنِ قل الذكرين حرم أَن الأُنْثَيَيْنِ أَمَّا اشْتَمَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ أَرْحَامُ الْأُنْثَيَيْنِ﴾ مِنْ ذكرٍ أَوْ أُنْثَى؛ أَيْ: أَمْ كُلَّ ذَلِكَ حَرَّمَ؟ فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يُحَرِّمْ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا.
﴿أَمْ كُنْتُمْ شُهَدَاءَ إِذْ وَصَّاكُمُ اللَّهُ بِهَذَا﴾ أَيْ: أَنَّكُمْ لَمْ تَكُونُوا شُهَدَاءَ لِهَذَا،
