And Allah has not enjoined this upon you. The Prophet, peace be upon him, questioned them, but they remained silent and did not answer him. They said: "O Muhammad, what is this prohibition that our forefathers and those before them prohibited?" Allah said to the Prophet: {Say, "I do not find within that which was revealed to me anything forbidden to one who would eat it unless it be a dead animal or blood spilled out"}, meaning: flowing. As for blood that is in a vein or mixed with meat, [it is not forbidden]. {Or the flesh of swine, for indeed, it is impure, or it be [slaughtered in] disobedience, dedicated to other than Allah}. This is what they slaughtered for their idols; there is an inversion in it: {or [slaughtered in] disobedience, dedicated to other than Allah}, for indeed, it is impure. {But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit]}; so he ate from these things out of necessity, {then indeed, your Lord is Forgiving and Merciful}. The interpretation of {neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit]} has already passed.
وَلَمْ يُوصِكُمُ اللَّهُ بِهِ؛ فَسَأَلَهُمُ النَّبي ﷺ فَسَكَتُوا وَلَمْ يُجِيبُوهُ. وَقَالُوا: يَا مُحَمَّدُ، فِيمَ هَذَا التَّحْرِيمُ الَّذِي حَرَّمَهُ آبَاؤُنَا وَآبَاؤُهُمْ قَبْلَهُمْ؟ فَقَالَ اللَّهُ لِلنَّبِيِّ: ﴿قُلْ لَا أَجِدُ فِيمَا أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ مُحَرَّمًا عَلَى طَاعِمٍ يَطْعَمُهُ إِلا أَنْ يَكُونَ مَيْتَةً أَو دَمًا مسفوحا﴾ يَعْنِي: سَائِلًا. فَأَمَّا دمٌ فِي عِرْقٍ أَوْ مُخَالِطٌ لَحْمًا [فَلَا] ﴿أَوْ لَحْمَ خِنْزِيرٍ فَإِنَّهُ رِجْسٌ أَوْ فِسْقًا أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ اللَّهِ بِهِ﴾ وَهُوَ مَا ذَبَحُوا لِأَصْنَامِهِمْ؛ فِيهَا تَقْدِيمٌ ﴿أَوْ فِسْقًا أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ الله بِهِ﴾ فَإِنَّهُ رجسٌ ﴿فَمَنِ اضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغ وَلَا عَاد﴾ فَأَكَلَ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأَشْيَاءِ عَلَى الِاضْطِرَارِ مِنْهُ ﴿فَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ غَفُورٌ رَحِيم﴾. قَدْ مَضَى تَفْسِيرُ ﴿فَمَنِ اضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٍ وَلا عَادٍ﴾.
