"Then Satan whispered to both of them to manifest for them that which was hidden from them of their private parts." They were covered with something like a fingernail.
"And he said, 'Your Lord did not forbid you this tree except that you might become'"—meaning, lest you become—"'angels or become of the immortal,'" those who do not die.

﴿وَقَالَ مَا نَهَاكُمَا رَبُّكُمَا عَنْ هَذِهِ الشَّجَرَةِ إِلَّا أَن تَكُونَا﴾ لِئَلَّا تَكُونَا ﴿ملكَيْنِ﴾ مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ ﴿أَوْ تَكُونَا مِنَ الخالدين﴾ الَّذين لَا يموتون
