The first is: the equivalent, and the second is: to be in the meaning of multiplying a thing.
His statement: "But you do not know," meaning: O you who are being addressed, you do not know what pertains to each group among you.
Surah Al-A'raf from verse (40) to verse (43).
أَحَدُهُمَا: الْمِثْلُ، وَالْآخَرُ: أَنْ يَكُونَ فِي مَعْنَى تَضْعِيفِ الشَّيْءِ.
وَقَوْلُهُ: ﴿وَلَكِن لَا تعلمُونَ﴾ أَيْ: أَيُّهَا الْمُخَاطَبُونَ مَا لِكُلِّ فريق مِنْكُم.
