"And remember when He made you successors after the people of Noah," meaning: He made you successors on the earth after them, "and increased you in creation in abundance," meaning: the bodies and the strength that He granted them.
﴿وَاذْكُرُوا إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَاءَ مِنْ بعد قوم نوحٍ﴾ يَعْنِي: اسْتَخَلَفَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ بَعْدَهُمْ ﴿وزادكم فِي الْخلق بصطة﴾ يَعْنِي: الْأَجْسَامَ وَالْقُوَّةَ الَّتِي أَعْطَاهُمْ.
