"And when Moses returned to his people, angry and grieved" (Qur'an 7:150), meaning: intensely angry.
"He said, 'How wretched is that which you have done in my absence after me! Were you impatient regarding the affair of your Lord?'" (Qur'an 7:150). Muhammad [bin Abi Zamanin] said: It is said, 'I hastened the matter' (ajiltu al-amr) if I preceded it, and 'I urged it' (a'jaltuhu) if I prompted it.
"He said, 'O son of my mother, indeed the people weakened me'" (Qur'an 7:150).
Muhammad said:
Whoever reads it as 'ibna umma' (son of mother) with a fatha, it is due to the frequency of their usage of this name.
Surah al-A'raf, from verse (152) to verse (155).
﴿وَلَمَّا رَجَعَ مُوسَى إِلَى قَوْمِهِ غَضْبَان أسفا﴾ أَيْ: شَدِيدَ الْغَضَبِ.
﴿قَالَ بِئْسَمَا خَلَفْتُمُونِي مِنْ بَعْدِي أَعَجِلْتُمْ أَمْرَ ربكُم﴾ قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ: يُقَالُ: عَجِلْتُ الأَمْرَ إِذَا سَبَقْتُهُ، وَأَعْجَلْتُهُ: إِذَا اسْتَحْثَثْتَهُ.
﴿قَالَ ابْنَ أُمَّ إِنَّ الْقَوْمَ استضعفوني﴾.
قَالَ محمدٌ:
مَنْ قَرَأَ (ابْنَ أُمَّ) بِالْفَتْحِ، فَلِكَثْرَةِ اسْتِعْمَالِهِمْ هَذَا الِاسْم.
