"And when the anger subsided in Moses" (Qur'an 7:154), meaning: it calmed down, "he took the tablets; and in their inscription" (Qur'an 7:154), meaning: the book from which the Torah was copied.
﴿وَلَمَّا سَكَتَ عَنْ مُوسَى الْغَضَبُ﴾ أَيْ: سَكَنَ ﴿أَخَذَ الأَلْوَاحَ وَفِي نسختها﴾ يَعْنِي: الْكِتَابَ الَّذِي نُسِخَتْ مِنْهُ التَّوْرَاة.
