"And makes lawful for them the good things" (Qur'an 7:157), meaning: fats and every animal with an undivided hoof; "and forbids them the evil things" (Qur'an 7:157), meaning: what is unlawful. "And removes from them their burden" (Qur'an 7:157), meaning: their heaviness, which is what had been forbidden to them.
"And the shackles which were upon them" (Qur'an 7:157), meaning: what had been made strict for them in that regard.
"And honor him" (Qur'an 7:157), meaning: revere him, "and follow the light which has been sent down with him" (Qur'an 7:157), meaning: upon him; that is: the Qur'an.
﴿وَيحل لَهُم الطَّيِّبَات﴾ يَعْنِي: الشُّحُومَ وَكُلَّ ذِي ظُفُرٍ ﴿وَيحرم عَلَيْهِم الْخَبَائِث﴾ يَعْنِي: الْحَرَامَ ﴿وَيَضَعُ عَنْهُمْ إِصْرَهُمْ﴾ ثِقَلَهُمْ؛ وَهُوَ مَا كَانَ حَرَّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ.
﴿وَالأَغْلالَ الَّتِي كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ﴾ يَعْنِي: مَا كَانَ شُدِّدَ عَلَيْهِمْ فِيهِ.
﴿وعزروه﴾ أَيْ: عَظَّمُوهُ ﴿وَاتَّبَعُوا النُّورَ الَّذِي أنزل مَعَه﴾ أَي: عَلَيْهِ؛ يَعْنِي: الْقُرْآن.
