[They wish to get out of the Fire, but they are never to emerge therefrom] (Surah Al-Ma'idah, 5:37). Al-Hasan said: Whenever it lifts them with its touch until they reach its uppermost part, they are cast back into it.
﴿يُرِيدُونَ أَنْ يَخْرُجُوا مِنَ النَّارِ وَمَا هم بِخَارِجِينَ مِنْهَا﴾ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ: كُلَّمَا رَفَعَتْهُمْ بِمَسَّهَا حَتَّى يَصِيرُوا إِلَى أَعْلَاهَا أُعِيدُوا فِيهَا.
