"And remember when you were few and oppressed in the land" (8:26), meaning: subjugated in the land of Mecca. "Fearful that the people would abduct you," meaning: the disbelievers of the people of Mecca.
"But He sheltered you," He gathered you to Medina. "And supported you with His victory," He aided you against the polytheists.
"And provided you with good things," meaning: the lawful sustenance.
