"Then Allah sent down His sakina (tranquility/reassurance) upon His Messenger and upon the believers, and He sent down soldiers whom you did not see" (Quran 9:26), meaning: the angels, "and He punished those who disbelieved," which refers to the killing before the punishment of the Hereafter.

﴿ثُمَّ أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ سَكِينَتَهُ عَلَى رَسُولِهِ وَعَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَأَنْزَلَ جُنُودًا لم تَرَوْهَا﴾ يَعْنِي: الْمَلائِكَةَ ﴿وَعَذَّبَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا﴾ وَهُوَ الْقَتْلُ قَبْلَ عَذَابِ الآخِرَةِ.
