And he knew that they would not reach him. "And He supported him with soldiers you did not see," meaning the angels, during his fighting against the polytheists.

وَعَلِمَ أَنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ وَاصِلِينَ إِلَيْهِ ﴿وأيده بِجُنُود لم تَرَوْهَا﴾ يَعْنِي: الْمَلائِكَةَ عِنْدَ قِتَالِهِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ.
