تفسير القرآن العزيز لابن أبي زمنين
مجلد 2 · صفحة 622٤٢

الترجمة · EN

Then He said: "If it had been an easy gain," meaning: a nearby spoil, "and an average journey," meaning: a short one, "they would have followed you, but the distance seemed too far to them," meaning: the journey. "And they will swear by Allah: 'If we were able,'" meaning: if we had found abundance in wealth, "'we would have come out with you.' They are destroying their own souls" through lying, "and Allah knows that they are surely liars," meaning: they only offered excuses with lies.

Surat at-Tawbah, from verse (43) to verse (47).
