"And among them are some who criticize you regarding the alms [Sadaqat]"—meaning: who find fault with you and disparage you—"if they are given from them, they are satisfied"—to the end of the verse. Qatada said: A man who was recently living among the Bedouins came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) while he was distributing gold and silver, and said: "O Muhammad, if God—may He be glorified and exalted—has commanded you to be just, you have not been just today." The Messenger of God (peace be upon him) said: "Woe to you! Who would be just to you after me?" Then he said: "Beware of this man and those like him, for in my nation there are those like him; people who recite the Quran, but it does not pass beyond their throats."
Surah At-Tawbah, from verse (60) only.
