[Allah has promised the believing men and believing women gardens beneath which rivers flow and pleasant dwellings in gardens of perpetual residence (adnin)] Al-Hasan said: 'Adn is one of the names of Paradise.
Muhammad said: Al-'Adn in the language means: residence (iqamah). It is said: 'Adantu bi-mawdi' kadha, meaning: I resided in such a place.
[And approval from Allah is greater] than that which they are in of the dominion of Paradise.
Yahya [narrated] from Ibrahim ibn Muhammad, from Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir, from Jabir ibn 'Abd Allah who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When the people of Paradise are admitted into Paradise and see what is in it, Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) will say to them: 'You have with Me [something] better than this.' They will say: 'Our Lord, there is nothing better than Paradise.' He will say: 'Yes, I bestow upon you My approval.'"
Al-Hasan said: There will reach their hearts, from the approval of Allah, such pleasure and joy that it will be more pleasurable to them and more cooling to their eyes than everything they have attained of the pleasure of Paradise.
Surah at-Tawbah from verse (73) to verse (74).
﴿وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الأَنْهَارُ وَمَسَاكِنَ طيبَة فِي جنَّات عدن﴾ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ: (عدنٌ) اسْمٌ مِنْ أَسْمَاءِ الْجَنَّةِ.
قَالَ محمدٌ: الْعَدْنُ فِي اللُّغَةِ: الإِقَامَةُ؛ يُقَالُ: عَدَنْتُ بِمَوْضِعِ كَذَا؛ أَيْ: أَقَمْتُ بِهِ.
﴿ورضوان من الله أكبر﴾ مِمَّا هُمْ فِيهِ مِنْ مُلْكِ الْجَنَّةِ.
يحيى: عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: " إِذَا أُدْخِلَ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ الْجَنَّةَ، وَرَأَوْا مَا فِيهَا قَالَ اللَّهُ ﷿ لَهُمْ: لَكُمْ عِنْدِي أَفْضَلُ مِنْ هَذَا. قَالُوا: رَبَّنَا لَا شَيْءَ أَفْضَلَ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ. قَالَ: بَلَى أُحِلُّ عَلَيْكُمْ رِضْوَانِي ".
قَالَ الْحَسَنُ: يَصِلُ إِلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ مِنْ رِضْوَانِ اللَّهِ مِنَ اللَّذَّةِ وَالسُّرُورِ مَا هُوَ أَلَذُّ عِنْدَهُمْ وَأَقَرُّ لأَعْيُنِهِمْ مِنْ كُلِّ شيءٍ أَصَابُوهُ مِنْ لَذَّة الْجنَّة.
سُورَة التَّوْبَة من الْآيَة (٧٣) إِلَى الْآيَة (٧٤).
