Muhammad said: His saying: "On the edge of a crumbling bank," means: the edge of a bank. The 'jurf' is that which is eroded by torrents from the valleys. It is said: 'jurfun har' (crumbling bank) and 'ha'ir' (collapsing), when it is cracked; so when it falls, it is said: 'inhara' (tumbled down) and 'tahawwara' (collapsed).
"A promise binding upon Him in the Torah, the Gospel, and the Quran." He says: This is the decree of Allah—Mighty and Majestic is He—concerning this, in the Torah, the Gospel, and the Quran.
Muhammad said: "A promise binding upon Him," is in the accusative case (nasb) based on the meaning: For them is Paradise; He promised it to them as a promise binding upon Him.
