"And they ask you to inform them," meaning: they ask you for information, "Is it true?" referring to the Quran. "Say, 'Yes, by my Lord, it is indeed the truth, and you will not be able to escape [Him]," meaning you will not outrun Him so that He would be unable to punish you."
﴿ويستنبئونك﴾ أَي: يستخبرونك ﴿أَحَق هُوَ﴾ يَعْنُونَ: الْقُرْآنَ ﴿قُلْ إِي وَرَبِّي إِنَّهُ لَحَقٌّ وَمَا أَنْتُمْ بِمُعْجِزِينَ﴾ بِسَابِقِينَ فَلا يَقْدِرُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَيُعَذِّبَكُمْ.
