"And if every soul that has transgressed"—meaning: committed shirk (polytheism)—"had all that is in the earth"—of gold and silver—"it would offer it as a ransom"—on the Day of Resurrection—"for [itself] against the punishment of Allah" (Glorified and Exalted be He).
"And they will conceal the regret when they see the punishment"—meaning: when they have entered into it—"and it will be judged between them"—meaning: it will be decided between them—"with justice"—with fairness.
﴿وَلَوْ أَنَّ لِكُلِّ نَفْسٍ ظَلَمَتْ﴾ أشركت ﴿مَا فِي الأَرْض﴾ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وفضةٍ ﴿لافْتَدَتْ بِهِ﴾ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ عَذَابِ اللَّهِ ﷿.
﴿وَأَسَرُّوا النَّدَامَةَ لَمَّا رَأَوْا الْعَذَاب﴾ أَي دخلُوا فِيهِ ﴿وَقضي بَينهم﴾ أَي: فصل بَينهم ﴿بِالْقِسْطِ﴾ بِالْعَدْلِ.
