"It is He who made for you the night to rest therein," meaning: for you to settle therein from fatigue, "and the day, giving sight," meaning: luminous, so that you may seek your livelihoods therein.

Muhammad said: It was said: "giving sight" means: [a day] in which things are seen; just as you say: a sleeping night.
