"Our Lord, obliterate their wealth." Their dinars, dirhams, and crops were turned into stones. "And harden their hearts" with misguidance, "so that they do not believe." This is also an imprecation, "until they see the painful punishment," so that they were prevented from believing.

﴿رَبنَا اطْمِسْ على أَمْوَالهم﴾ فَمُسِخَتْ دَنَانِيرُهُمْ وَدَرَاهِمُهُمْ وَزُرُوعُهُمْ حِجَارَةً ﴿وَاشْدُدْ على قُلُوبهم﴾ بالضلالة ﴿فَلَا يُؤمنُوا﴾ دُعَاءٌ أَيْضًا ﴿حَتَّى يَرَوُا الْعَذَابَ الْأَلِيم﴾ فَحِيلَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ أَنْ يُؤْمِنُوا.
