[Noah] said, "O my people, have you considered: if I am upon clear evidence from my Lord," meaning: upon clarification, "and He has given me mercy from Himself," meaning by mercy: Prophethood, "but it has been hidden from you," so that you cannot perceive it with your hearts.
﴿قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُ عَلَى بَيِّنَةٍ مِنْ رَبِّي﴾ عَلَى بَيَانٍ ﴿وَآتَانِي رَحْمَةً مِنْ عِنْده﴾ يَعْنِي بِالرَّحْمَةِ: النُّبُوَّةَ ﴿فَعُمِّيَتْ عَلَيْكُمْ﴾ أَنْ تُبْصِرُوهَا بِقُلُوبِكُمْ
