"O Abraham, give up this [plea]." Al-Kalbi said: Abraham asked his Lord not to destroy Lot and his family, and to pardon the people of Lot. It was said to him: "O Abraham, give up this [plea], for indeed, the command of your Lord has come, and there will come to them a punishment that cannot be averted."
Surah Hud, from verse (77) to verse (83).
﴿يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ أَعْرِضْ عَنْ هَذَا﴾ قَالَ الْكَلْبِيُّ: سَأَلَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ رَبَّهُ أَلا يُهْلِكَ لَوْطًا وَأَهْلَهُ، وَأَنْ يَعْفُوَ عَنْ قَوْمِ لوطٍ، فَقِيلَ: يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ، أَعْرِضْ عَنْ هَذَا ﴿إِنَّهُ قَدْ جَاءَ أَمْرُ رَبِّكَ وَإِنَّهُمْ آتِيهِمْ عَذَابٌ غَيْرُ مَرْدُودٍ﴾.
