تفسير القرآن العزيز لابن أبي زمنين
مجلد 2 · صفحة 94٩٠

الترجمة · EN

"O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants (khamr), gambling (maysir)," meaning: all types of gambling, "and idolatrous altars (ansab)," which are their idols that they used to worship besides Allah, "and divining arrows (azlam)," which are the arrows used for casting lots. Qatadah said: When a man wanted to travel, he would take two arrows; he would say: 'This one commands him to set out, and he will attain goodness in his journey,' and he would take another arrow and say: 'This one commands him to stay, and he will not attain goodness in his journey.' This was written upon them, and the one drawn between them determined the choice, so whichever one emerged, he would act accordingly. Thus, He forbade that.
