تفسير القرآن العزيز لابن أبي زمنين
مجلد 3 · صفحة 1102

الترجمة · EN

Shurahbil. Her people perished, so she became queen. It is said that when she went to sleep, she would lock the doors. Once she had locked the doors and gone to her bed, the hoopoe came to her, entering through a small opening in her house, and dropped the letter onto her stomach. She took the letter and read it, then said: "O assembly, indeed, to me has been delivered a noble letter." This means: it is excellent in its content, up to the verse. "Do not be haughty toward me," meaning: do not stay away from me, "and come to me as Muslims [submitting to Allah]." Al-Kalbi said: This means surrendering, and it does not mean [the religion of] Islam.

Surah An-Naml, verses 29 to 35.
