"So he went out to his people"—meaning Qarun—"in his adornment." Al-Kalbi's interpretation is that he went out wearing red garments, upon a white mule, and with him were four hundred slave girls wearing red garments upon white mules. (He said:
﴿فَخرج على قومه﴾ يَعْنِي: قَارون ﴿فِي زينته﴾ تَفْسِيرُ الْكَلْبِيِّ: أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ وَعَلَيْهِ ثِيَابٌ حُمْرٌ عَلَى بَغْلَةٍ بَيْضَاءَ، وَمَعَهُ أَرْبَعمِائَة جَارِيَةٍ عَلَيْهِنَّ ثِيَابٌ حُمْرٌ عَلَى بِغَالٍ بِيضٍ (قَالَ
