"And when harm touches the people, they call upon their Lord, returning to Him [in repentance]" meaning: sincere in supplication. "Then when He lets them taste mercy from Him" meaning: He relieves them of that [harm]. "At once a party of them associates partners with their Lord, so they may deny what We have given them," meaning: they deny the blessings We have given them by associating partners [with God]. "So enjoy yourselves" until your death. "For you are going to know," and this is a threat.
﴿وَإِذَا مَسَّ النَّاسَ ضُرٌّ دَعَوْا رَبهم منيبين إِلَيْهِ﴾ أَيْ: مُخْلِصِينَ فِي الدُّعَاءِ ﴿ثُمَّ إِذا أذاقهم مِنْهُ رَحْمَة﴾ يَعْنِي: كَشَفَ عَنْهُمْ ذَلِكَ ﴿إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِنْهُمْ بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ لِيَكْفُرُوا بِمَا آتَيْنَاهُم﴾ أَيْ: يَكْفُرُوا بِمَا آتَيْنَاهُمْ مِنَ النعم حَيْثُ أشركوا ﴿فتمتعوا﴾ إِلَى موتكم ﴿فَسَوف تعلمُونَ﴾ وَهَذَا وَعِيد
