(He created the heavens without pillars that you see). There is an inversion in the exegesis of al-Hasan: "He created the heavens, you see them without pillars," while the exegesis of Ibn Abbas is: "They have pillars, but you do not see them." (And He has cast into the earth firmly set mountains), meaning: the mountains, by which He stabilized the earth, (so that it will not shake with you), meaning: so that it does not move with you, (and He has dispersed therein) meaning: He created, (from every creature).
﴿خلق السَّمَاوَات بِغَيْر عمد ترونها﴾ فِيهَا تَقْدِيمٌ فِي تَفْسِيرِ الْحَسَنِ: خَلَقَ السَّمَوَاتِ تَرَوْنَهَا بِغَيْرِ عَمَدٍ، وَتَفْسِيرُ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: لَهَا عَمَدٌ وَلَكِنْ لَا تَرَوْنَهَا ﴿وَأَلْقَى فِي الأَرْض رواسي﴾ يَعْنِي: الْجِبَالَ أَثْبَتَ بَهَا الْأَرْضَ ﴿أَن تميد بكم﴾ أَيْ: لِئَلَّا تَحَرَّكَ بِكُمْ ﴿وَبَثَّ فِيهَا﴾ خَلَقَ ﴿مِنْ كُلِّ دَابَّةٍ﴾.
