"Their sides forsake their beds" (Qur'an 32:16). Regarding the interpretation of Al-Hasan, he said: It means: the night prayer. "They call upon their Lord in fear" of His punishment, "and in hope" of His mercy; meaning: Paradise.
﴿تَتَجَافَى جنُوبهم عَن الْمضَاجِع﴾ تَفْسِيرُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: يَعْنِي: قِيَامَ اللَّيْل ﴿يدعونَ رَبهم خوفًا﴾ من عَذَابه ﴿وَطَمَعًا﴾ فِي رَحْمَتِهِ؛ يَعْنِي: الْجَنَّةَ.
