"And when a party of them said: O people of Yathrib! There is no place for you (to stay), so return." Al-Kalbi said: When the hypocrites saw the confederates (Al-Ahzab), they became cowardly, and some of them said to others: No, by Allah, you have no place of staying with these people, so return to your people—meaning: the polytheists—and seek security from them. "And our houses are exposed (awrah)," meaning: empty, we fear theft for them. Allah said: "And they were not exposed," for Allah protects them, "they only wish to flee."
