﴿وَأنزل الَّذين ظاهروهم﴾ [And He brought down those who supported them], meaning: who assisted them, ﴿مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ﴾ [from the People of the Scripture], meaning: Qurayza and al-Nadir, ﴿مِنْ صَيَاصِيهِمْ﴾ [from their fortresses], meaning: their strongholds.
﴿وَأنزل الَّذين ظاهروهم﴾ يَعْنِي: عَاوَنُوهُمْ ﴿مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ﴾ يَعْنِي: قُرَيْظَةَ وَالنَّضِيرَ ﴿مِنْ صَيَاصِيهِمْ﴾ يَعْنِي: حُصُونَهُمْ.
