"And when you have withdrawn from them and that which they worship other than God" Qatada said: This is in the Mushaf of Ibn Mas'ud (And what they worship other than God), and this is its interpretation. "Then betake yourselves to the cave" [meaning] then retire to the cave. "Your Lord will spread for you of His mercy" [meaning] He will extend to you from His provision; according to the interpretation of al-Suddi.
Surat al-Kahf, from (verse 17 to verse 20).
﴿وَإِذِ اعْتَزَلْتُمُوهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ إِلا الله﴾ قَالَ قَتَادَةُ: هِيَ فِي مُصْحَفِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ (وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ) وَهَذَا تَفْسِيرُهَا ﴿فَأْوُوا إِلَى الْكَهْف﴾ أَيْ: فَانْتَهُوا إِلَى الْكَهْفِ ﴿يَنْشُرْ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ مِنْ رَحْمَتِهِ﴾ أَي: يبسط لكم من رزقه؛ فِي تفسر السّديّ.
