"O you who have believed, do not enter the houses of the Prophet except when you are permitted for a meal, without awaiting its readiness [lit: looking for its time]," Mujahid said, meaning: waiting for its time to arrive.
Muhammad [the author] said: The meaning is: not waiting for the time of its readiness; and it is the same meaning as the statement of Mujahid.
﴿يَا أَيهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَدْخُلُوا بُيُوتَ النَّبِيِّ إِلا أَنْ يُؤْذَنَ لَكُمْ إِلَى طَعَامٍ غَيْرَ نَاظِرِينَ إِنَاهُ﴾ قَالَ مُجَاهِدٌ: يَعْنِي: مُتَحَيِّنِينَ حِينَهُ.
قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ: الْمَعْنَى: غَيْرَ مُنْتَظِرِينَ وَقْتَ إِدْرَاكِهِ؛ وَهُوَ مَعْنَى قَوْلِ مُجَاهِد
