[Our Lord, indeed we obeyed our masters]. It is read in another manner: [our masters (sadatina)], where 'sadah' is a plural of a single group, and 'sadat' is the plural of the plural. [And our dignitaries (kubara'ana)], meaning: in misguidance.
﴿رَبنَا إِنَّا أَطعْنَا سادتنا﴾ وَهِي تقْرَأ على وَجه آخر: ﴿سَادَاتِنَا﴾ وَالسَّادَةُ جَمَاعَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ، وَالسَّادَاتُ جمَاعَة الْجَمَاعَة ﴿وكبراءنا﴾ أَي: فِي الضَّلَالَة
