"And say: Perhaps my Lord will guide me to what is nearer than this in rectitude." Muhammad said: It is said: The meaning is: Perhaps my Lord will grant me of the signs and proofs of prophethood that which is closer to rectitude and more indicative than the story of the Companions of the Cave.
﴿وَقُلْ عَسَى أَنْ يَهْدِيَنِ رَبِّي لأَقْرَب من هَذَا رشدا﴾ قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ: قِيلَ: الْمَعْنَى: عَسَى رَبِّي أَنْ يُعْطِيَنِي مِنَ الْآيَاتِ وَالدَّلَالَاتِ عَلَى النُّبُوَّةِ مَا يَكُونُ أَقْرَبُ فِي الرُّشْدِ، وَأَدَلُّ مِنْ قصَّة أَصْحَاب الْكَهْف.
