"Wa lam takun lahu fi'atun" (And he had no group) that is: kin, "yansurunahu min duni Allahi" (to help him other than Allah).
Muhammad said: His saying: "fi'atun yansurunahu" (a group that help him) and he did not say: "tansuruhu" (that helps it [feminine]); the meaning is: and he had no people to help him.
﴿وَلم تكن لَهُ فِئَة﴾ أَيْ: عَشِيرَةٌ ﴿يَنْصُرُونَهُ مِنْ دُونِ الله﴾.
قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ: قَوْلُهُ: ﴿فِئَةٌ يَنْصُرُونَهُ﴾ وَلَمْ يَقُلْ: تَنْصُرُهُ؛ الْمَعْنَى: وَلَمْ يكن لَهُ أَقوام ينصرونه.
