"But he called to her from below her." Qatadah said: We were told that it was Gabriel.
Yahya said: Some of them said: "But he called to her from below her," meaning: Jesus.
Muhammad said: [Yahya] did not clarify for us how the recitation is in His saying: "from below her," and he mentioned
﴿فناداها من تحتهَا﴾ قَالَ قَتَادَةُ: كُنَّا نُحَدَّثُ أَنَّهُ جِبْرِيلُ.
قَالَ يَحْيَى: وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ: ﴿فناداها من تحتهَا﴾ يَعْنِي: عِيسَى.
قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ: لَمْ يُبَيِّنْ لَنَا [يَحْيَى] كَيْفَ الْقِرَاءَةُ فِي قَوْله: (من تحتهَا) وَذَكَرَ
